Rising Stars: Meet Eddie Poole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Poole.

Eddie Poole

Hi Eddie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a native of Nashville/Mt. Juliet area. I got my real estate license in 2005, and I’m still very passionate about helping people find the right home. I also love relocating people to the area. I always tell my clients that it is my desire to make them raving fans of my real estate business because of the excellence of my business and the way they are treated throughout the process of buying the home.

My background of serving people and putting people first comes from my relationship with God. I’m also an ordained pastor. (I worked as a full-time pastor before starting my business in 2005). As my business grew two years ago, it became obvious to me that I needed to start a real estate team to help me serve my clients even better. I now have a transaction coordinator on my team, as well as three other agents. The culture of my team is to serve people however we can serve them. Then, when they are ready to buy a house, they use us.

Our service to them doesn’t stop after they close on their house. We keep serving them, inviting them to events, encouraging them to call us when they need service providers or referrals, and I also serve them as a pastor. I’ve married my clients, visited them in the hospital, taken their meals, and tried to be an encouragement as much as I can. Again, my whole team has the same heart to serve.

Besides being a real estate agent, I’m also an author. I released my first book, “Speaking Life in a Messed Up World” a couple of years ago. It’s available on Amazon, and there is an audio version on Audible.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I became a real estate agent in 2005, but the market crashed in 2008. That was a tough time for a new agent. I didn’t sell a single house for over a year. I worked several part-time jobs to keep things afloat. I sold my house, rented, and my wife got a full-time job.

Nevertheless, I stuck with real estate through the lean times, and it’s definitely been worth it all.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My team sees “The Eddie Poole Team” as a way to serve our community. It’s just part of our DNA and who we are. We work primarily through relationships and referrals. Honestly, we see our business as a ministry that sells homes.

Another part of my business that is different is that I do a lot of video series. My most popular is a monthly series that I do call “Mt Juliet Update,” where I keep the community updated on everything that’s going on in and around Mt Juliet. Other series:

-“Ed Talks” I’ve interviewed Michael W. Smith, Craig Colquitt (2 Time Super Bowl Champion), Micah Schweinberg (Diamond Rio Drummer), and Charlie Daniels, Jr.

-“Officer Spotlight” interview and honor an Mt. Juliet Police Officer

-“Around Mt. Juliet,” where I interview business owners about their business

-“Pastor Spotlight,” where I interview a pastor about his life and Church

In addition, I’ve also hosted an Emmy Nominated Show called “The American Dream.”

Usually, whatever video I’m doing, I’ll end the video with my tagline, “I’m Eddie with the Eddie Poole Team at Benchmark. We love to LEAD PEOPLE HOME!” People that know us know what we mean by “We love to Lead People Home.” It’s a play on words from selling houses and also being a pastor.

I mentioned earlier that I’d written a book, “Speaking Life in a Messed Up World.” It talks about encouraging those around you with your words. It’s important to make a difference in the world. Of course, it’s written from a Christian point of view.

As mentioned, I’m very involved in the community.

-Board Chair, Wilson County Fellowship of Christian Athletes
-Board Member, Living Sent Ministries
-Mt Juliet Club Leader, Living Sent Ministries
-Leader, Mt Juliet Referral Group
-Active member of the Church
-Active member of Mt Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club
-Member of Mt Juliet Chamber of Commerce

I stay crazy busy in the community!

What do you think about luck?
I don’t know that I believe in just “luck,” whether it be good or bad. I can say that I’m blessed to have started a business in the town where I grew up. That gives me the advantage of knowing ALOT of people.

I know those that I went to school with from elementary school to high school. I know people from my church dealings, civic clubs, youth sports, and many years of being in the community.

I’ve lived here all of my life except for almost 15 years when I served as a pastor in both Carolinas and Florida.
