Rising Stars: Meet Mia Gwynn, Kylie Gwynn, and Lila Gwynn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Gwynn, Kylie Gwynn, and Lila Gwynn.

Hi Mia, Kylie, and Lila, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Well, we are 3 sisters and we all started singing and playing instruments at a very young age… Our mom knew we could sing and she knew she wanted us all to learn piano and guitar too., she is musical herself and sings and plays piano and guitar too so from an early Agee would sing and arrange songs and learn harmonies which quickly became very natural to us. We would perform around our town and people were always in awe of our hair and harmonies and the fact that we are sisters people love family harmony. And we are different than a lot of groups too because we all take turns on lead too so people love that we have our individual voices and then come together with our blended harmonies that are unique to us sisters. But we did focus heavily on equal harmonies that is sometimes unique in today’s music too. And so, we started writing original music together as well and I think people started noticing that we were serious about music, and making this a career is our dream. We took our first trip to Nashville in 2019 and to record some songs and gig and get a feel and we fell in love with it! The music, the people, the vibe, the opportunities, we realized that’s where we ultimately want and need to be to keep pursuing this dream of ours of being a country trio. During COVID and quarantine we really stayed busy at home and wrote a lot and practiced and perfected and then once things started opening up again, we started going back and forth to Nashville pretty often to perform at the singer-songwriter showcases, record our music, meet other writers and work with them and just really take advantage of the city and the opportunities and networking, etc. And since concerts have opened back up, we’ve opened for people like Michael Ray, Gary Allan, and Coffey Anderson…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I mean for us probably the main struggle is living so far from Nashville. We are all still in school so juggling everything and then finding time to travel to Nashville can be difficult and expensive since we have to fly hahaha but we seem to make it work and we cram a lot into our trips to get as much done as we can while we’re there… And we have an amazing producer over there who has really been helping us open some doors and get our name out there so the goal is to move there eventually to keep moving forward!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are 3 sisters that make up the country trio band called “Gwynn Sisters” and we all sing, play guitar and harmonize a ton! We all take turns on lead and come together with equally blended harmonies We are also very known for our super long curly hair. People always think we are triplets by our hair and harmonies. Mia is 18, Kylie is 16 and Lila is 13. We perform our own original music as well as always incorporate country covers from various some of our favorite artists from Taylor Swift to Loretta Lynn.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for us would be to be able to make this our career forever! To be able to make our music together and make a living would be a dream. To be able to do a big tour, to keep recording our original music, to hear it on the radio, we would die hahaha! So ya that’s the dream in a nutshell! PS were all allergic to nuts hahaha
