Rising Stars: Meet Hoang Nguyen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hoang Nguyen.

Hi Hoang, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I always have been eating good food. People ask me for food recommendations all the time. Two years ago, in February of 2020, I decided to create a fund account where people can see what I eat and recommend. My Instagram account, @ChunkyEatsEverything, is a curated mix of food from different restaurants and food I cook at home. I take pictures and entraining videos of me eating all kinds of different foods and drinks.

When I eat at a restaurant, I like to sample as much food as I can handle. I plan vacations around different foods I can eat, That’s how I landed in Nashville, TN. I came to Nashville for WWE’s Summer Slam, but I ended up eating at three great venues in Nashville. I went to Monell’s dining and catering, Edley’s Bar-B-Que, and the Cup Cake collection. I travel around and eat at different restaurants and review them for people to check out.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been smooth at all. I think I got shadow band by Instagram because I was stuck in the 900s for over a year plus. I finally reached 1000’s followers in late June of 2022. Then I got promoted to Yelp Elite Squad for the Bay Area, CA. Then I got offered this magazine spread that I am very excited about.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work as a project coordinator for Coitcom in the Bay Area. I help coordinate the schedule of over 30 employees for our company. I specialized in communicating with employees about where they are assigned to work I am known to be a fun employee to work with and be around. I am proud that I am a great communicator to all my employees.

What sets me apart is that I am great about attention to detail and how clear I am

Who else deserves credit for your story?
My younger brother Richard deserves the credit. I lost my brother abruptly and they really hurt me. He was my best friend one moment and the next he is gone. The void I lost from missing him was filled with my Instagram account we used to love going to eat together and rate different restaurants as we eat them.

The Instagram account allowed a distraction from my grief, It brought new joy and life back into my spirit. I was happy once more again.
