Rising Stars: Meet Karen Robinson of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Robinson.

Hi Karen , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Over the years, I built a career centered around leadership development, speaking, coaching, and helping individuals and organizations grow with purpose.

For more than 35 years, I have worked with leaders, entrepreneurs, schools, churches, businesses, and communities both in the United States and internationally. A large part of my work has been in Cambodia, where I have spent over 15 years helping develop leadership programs, women’s initiatives, youth empowerment projects, and educational opportunities.

I am passionate about helping people discover their purpose, communicate effectively, and lead with vision. I have had the opportunity to work alongside global leadership organizations, speak to diverse audiences, and create programs that focus on business growth, family strength, emotional wellness, and personal development.

My journey has not always been easy. Like many people, I have experienced challenges, rejection, disappointments, and seasons that tested my faith and determination. However, those experiences shaped my perspective and strengthened my desire to help others rise beyond limitations.

Today, I continue to build leadership initiatives, mentor emerging leaders, create educational content and books, and work on projects that create both impact and opportunity. My mission is simple: help people believe bigger, lead stronger, and live with purpose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the journey has not always been easy. One of the biggest challenges was getting visas approved to bring young leaders from Cambodia to the United States for leadership training and educational opportunities. We faced multiple rejections and setbacks. In one case, we received four “no” answers before finally receiving a “yes.”

That experience taught me an important lesson: when your heart and purpose say yes, “No doesn’t always mean no. Sometimes it means ask again, ask someone else, or ask differently.” Persistence, preparation, and belief in the vision became essential parts of the journey.

There were moments when the process felt discouraging because we knew the opportunity could change lives, yet the doors were not immediately opening. However, we continued building relationships, improving the process, and believing in the mission.

Today, looking back, those challenges make the victories even more meaningful. Over the years, we have helped bring more than 1,500 young leaders to the United States for leadership training, educational exposure, cultural exchange, and personal growth experiences. Many of those young people have gone on to become leaders in their schools, businesses, communities, and families.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a leadership strategist, speaker, executive coach, and entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience helping people grow in leadership, communication, business, and purpose. My work focuses on developing leaders who create impact not only in business, but also in their families, communities, and nations.

I specialize in leadership development, personal growth, women’s empowerment, cross cultural leadership, public speaking, and building purpose driven programs and organizations. Over the years, I have worked with entrepreneurs, executives, churches, schools, nonprofits, and community leaders in both the United States and internationally.

One of the areas I am most known for is my long term leadership and educational work in Cambodia. For more than 15 years, I have helped connect young leaders to leadership training, educational opportunities, cultural exchange programs, and international experiences. Through persistence and partnership building, we have helped bring more than 1,500 young leaders to the United States for leadership development and exposure opportunities.

I am also known for creating leadership workshops, mentoring programs, speaking events, women’s initiatives, and educational content that helps people discover their voice, vision, and purpose. I believe leadership is not just about position, it is about influence, service, and helping others become stronger.

What I am most proud of is seeing lives transformed. Watching young people gain confidence, seeing women step into leadership, helping families grow stronger, and seeing leaders rise beyond limitations has been one of the greatest rewards of my career.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect leadership with purpose, people, and practical action. I bring together business experience, international leadership development, communication skills, faith, and real life experience to help people grow personally and professionally. My work is deeply relational, mission driven, and focused on creating lasting impact across cultures and generations.
