Hi Karissa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hair has always been more than just a service for me—it’s a way of helping people feel like their most confident, authentic selves. With almost 15 years in the industry, I’ve seen firsthand how the right style or color can completely transform not just someone’s look, but their energy and confidence.
After moving to Nashville to attend Belmont University, I fell in love with the city’s energy, creativity, and community. I was inspired to get into the hair industry shortly after Belmont and later after having my son, I was inspired to create Best Little Hair House—a place where guests can relax, laugh, and leave feeling better than when they walked in.
We’re not just about hair color and cuts (though we love a good blonde transformation or lived-in dimensional brunette!); we’re about building real connections, staying on top of the latest techniques, and making every appointment feel special.
At Best Little Hair House, it’s not just about great hair—it’s about creating an experience where every client feels seen, cared for, and celebrated.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a business is never a smooth ride—there are always ups and downs. What I’ve learned over the years is that being able to pivot, lean into challenges, and find new ways to overcome them is just as important as perfecting a balayage or blonde refresh.
We can’t control every circumstance, but we can keep showing up, keep growing, and keep doing great hair.

I love that even though Nashville has grown larger and there have been a lot of changes it still has a small town feel if you know where to look. As far as what I like least and I know I won’t be original in this is traffic.
