Rising Stars: Meet Lejuan King

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lejuan King.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story started in Denmark, Tennessee, with a love for creativity and capturing real moments. At first, photography and videography were just things I enjoyed doing, but over time I realized I had a gift for telling stories through visuals. That passion grew into LeJit Visualz and MaddMixTapez, where I focus on photography, videography, sports media, events, and creative storytelling.

A big part of my journey has been learning as I go, staying consistent, and continuing to invest in my craft. I’ve had the opportunity to capture major sporting events, community events, weddings, concerts, and other special moments for families and organizations. Each experience has helped me grow, not just as a creative, but as a person.

What keeps me going is knowing that my work can help people remember a moment, celebrate an accomplishment, or see themselves in a new light. I’m still growing, still learning, and still building, but I’m proud of where I started and excited for where God is taking me next. My goal has always been to make people believe in the moment, the vision, and themselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance creativity with the business side of things. As a creative, I love capturing moments and telling stories, but I’ve also had to learn about pricing, communication, time management, editing deadlines, and making sure I value my work properly.

Another challenge has been continuing to grow while sometimes figuring things out on my own. There have been moments where I had to learn through trial and error, invest in equipment, improve my skills, and stay consistent even when things felt slow. But every challenge has helped shape me and pushed me to take my craft more seriously.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of the growth I’ve seen in myself and my work. I started with a passion and a vision, and I’ve continued to learn, invest in my craft, and build relationships through every opportunity. What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the people and stories I capture. I want my work to make people feel seen, celebrated, and inspired.

I’m known for capturing moments with energy, emotion, and purpose. A lot of my work focuses on sports media, events, and storytelling, so I try to create visuals that don’t just look good, but feel real. Whether it’s a game winning moment, a live event, or a personal milestone, I want people to be able to look back at my work and feel the moment again.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about the city is the creative energy and the amount of opportunity. There are so many different people, stories, events, and cultures coming together, and as a creative, that gives me a lot of inspiration. Whether it’s music, sports, community events, or small businesses, there is always something worth capturing and a story worth telling.

What I like least is that it can sometimes be hard for smaller creatives to be seen, especially when you’re still building your name. But that also motivates me to keep growing, stay consistent, and create work that speaks for itself. Overall, I appreciate the city because it pushes me creatively and reminds me that there is always room to grow.
