Rising Stars: Meet Leona Morelock of Rogersville, TN/East TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leona Morelock.

Hi Leona, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been in the wedding industry my whole adult life. My husband, son and I moved to East TN from KY 3 years ago and since then my wedding business has been on hold.

Late 2024 I started to feel a yearning towards women’s ministry. I’ve hosted women’s faith filled events in the past but this feeling was different. I didn’t just want to plan an event and move on, I wanted to continue filling up other women with love.

2025 came and I took off running my race in ministry. I attended a faith based leadership summit, led by Christine Caine and invested in a 5 month mentorship program.

I host monthly gatherings, speaker events, and a retreat in November. All to try and keep women from feeling alone in this crowded world. I have a friendship starter pack and help facilitate other women’s gatherings. And I always forget but I have a memoir that will come out in 2026.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the biggest part of my ministry doors have been wide open. I know that I’m in the right place at the right time and this business is for me.

The main struggle for me presently is money. It costs to invest in yourself and to publish a book! But everything so far has come through when needed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I host and plan events for women on faith.

I specialize in making a table beautiful with decor but mostly with other women with whom to break bread and great conversation starters.

I am known for my love for community and deep, real friendships.

I am most proud of the retreat Unbreakable Connections that I have designed and will host in November. Along with that the digital products that I have created for other women.

Through my years with weddings I have been able to cultivate my skill for design as well as hosting. Making sure that everything I do lines up with what I believe and has that ‘pretty’ touch.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone just starting out I highly encourage you to invest in relationships and growing them. Also to find a mentor which is hard to do and most times just organically happens.
