Rising Stars: Meet Lisa Harris of Nashville, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Harris

Hi Lisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
With a background in acting and modeling, I’ve always enjoyed being in front of the camera. While these fields share similarities with content creation, acting and modeling come with specific pressures and high expectations of how it is expressed. As social media gained popularity, I discovered the joy of taking pictures and making videos without the pressure. This led me to content creation and learning video editing, a journey I continue to this day. Even when collaborating with brands, there may be specific messages or requests, but ultimately, there’s no pressure on how you creatively express them. Brands choose to work with you because of your unique style.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Embarking on a journey toward your vision is always challenging. It’s crucial not to let the obstacles along the way distract you. Content creation demands significant time and effort; sometimes, the returns may not match the work invested, which can be frustrating. The ideal job is where you get paid for what you naturally excel at and enjoy doing. Patience is essential in content creation and in pursuing any goal. In our era of instant gratification, consistency and discipline remain timeless principles for success.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a content creator and entrepreneur, I primarily focus on fashion and enjoy creating beauty and travel content. Content creation allows me to share my ideas and thoughts without limitations, serving as a creative expression. What distinguishes my work is the quality, attention to detail, and the energy I put into my content. Depending on the purpose, I might keep it simple or add more personality and complexity.
Creating content can be vulnerable, as the effort and love put into it may not always be appreciated by others. This can lead to mental exhaustion and pressure to conform. Despite these challenges, I’m proud of my perseverance, which has allowed me to collaborate and monetize my content. It has become my playground for self-expression.
I aim to expand my reach and collaborate with more brands and creators in the fashion, beauty, and travel industries. I’m also eager to explore new content formats and platforms to diversify my portfolio further.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
On my journey to becoming a full-time content creator and entrepreneur, I’ve often found myself struggling to neglect what I already have and long for what I think I need to succeed. We frequently believe that specific resources are essential to achieve our goals or pursue our passions, but this mindset can lead to inaction. Instead, empower yourself by asking, “What can I do with what I have to bridge the gap to what I think I need?” My mentor, Joshua Mundy, once told me, “analysis is paralysis.” This serves as a reminder to avoid overthinking. The key is to keep moving and keep doing something. Let your actions create the opportunities to attain what you need and desire.
