Rising Stars: Meet Lourdes Carrasco of Nashville, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lourdes Carrasco.

Hi Lourdes, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
A year and a half ago, I went through one of the toughest seasons of my life. I hit rock bottom – emotionally, spiritually, and physically. And the only thing that got me through it was community. That season opened my eyes to something so deeply human- our need for connection. We’re not meant to walk through life alone. I realized just how powerful it is to have people show up for you – not just to sweat beside you, but to truly see you, know you, and walk with you.

That moment planted the seed for Fit + Faith 615.

For a long time, I felt like I was living in two separate worlds – the gym was where I pushed my body, and church was where I poured into my soul. But I never had a space where both could exist at once. After experiencing my own physical transformation – losing 20 pounds, learning to stop comparing myself, and discovering a deeper identity rooted in faith – I felt called to create something bigger than myself.

I wanted to build a community where faith and fitness collide, where spiritual health is just as important as physical health, and where community is the priority – not the afterthought. Fit + Faith is a space for like-minded individuals to come together, grow stronger, and be reminded that God cares about every part of who we are – body, mind, and spirit.

God has blessed me with leadership qualities – and I fully believe He’s called me to use those gifts to make an impact right here in Nashville, Tennessee. Through leading Fit + Faith, I’ve been able to step into that calling – not by my own strength, but by His.

What started as a simple idea has become a Spirit-led movement – a monthly pop-up event where people don’t just show up for a workout… they show up for each other.

This is just the beginning – and I’m so grateful to be on this journey with people who are hungry for more than just reps and results. They’re here for purpose – and so am I.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. It’s been anything but a smooth road – but it’s been worth every bump.

Balancing an 8-to-5 corporate job while also coaching fitness classes and leading Fit + Faith has required a lot of sacrifice, late nights, and early mornings. There have been times when vendors have fallen through last minute, and I’ve had to pivot quickly and find a solution on the fly. We’ve had our fair share of trial and error – from logistics to programming to marketing – and every mistake has been a learning moment.

To be completely transparent, this movement is still only seven months old, and we’re figuring things out in real time. But we show up every single day for our community – because we believe in it. The road hasn’t been smooth, but the mission has always been clear: build something real, rooted in purpose, and powered by faith.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
By day, I work in tech sales at Schneider Electric, helping clients find smart, sustainable solutions for their energy and efficiency needs. But outside of my 8-to-5, my world revolves around group fitness and building community. I started coaching and leading classes back in college, and ever since, fitness has remained a huge passion of mine – not just for the physical challenge, but for the connection and confidence it brings people.

What really sets me apart is the many “hats” I wear – I’m navigating a full-time corporate career, coaching group fitness, and leading Fit + Faith 615, a passion project I launched to create a space where faith and fitness collide. Balancing all three roles has taught me how to lead with grit, intention, and a whole lot of time management.

I’m most proud of the impact Fit + Faith is making in such a short time. It’s more than just a workout – it’s a movement of like-minded individuals chasing after both physical and spiritual growth, and showing up for each other in a powerful way. Seeing that community come alive has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
