Rising Stars: Meet Melissa Paez and Sarah Spilburg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Paez and Sarah Spilburg.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our story starts at a mom’s group where we met. We soon found out that we both went to the same high school in SoCal but never met until we moved to TN. We both share the love of tea parties and upon looking for a local high tea experience, like we frequented back home, we couldn’t find anything comparable. That’s when we decided that we need to bring the high tea experience to our new home. Our passions for fine tea and making memories with friends and loved ones, drives us to continue creating community with those that mean the most. Everyone loves a great meal, but we want to add an experience to remember. The feeling of being transported back to a time when a meal was decadent and relaxing. Our passion truly lies with wanting to bring community and making lasting memories. Everyone should feel special and take time away from their busy schedules to stop and enjoy “tea together.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
With any new business, there are common hurdles and growing pains. Learning to grow a passion into a business can be challenging. Building a brand and making people aware of what we do and who we are doesn’t come without hard work. The hardest obstacle is prioritizing the demands and finding the balance of work and home life as mothers and wives.

God allows things to happen for a reason, but we continue to see Him open doors and bring us new opportunities. Every experience, good or bad, is an opportunity to grow.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Teavine is an event and catering company that specializes in high tea parties. We bring everything you would need to host a high tea event. Baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, church events, kids’ tea parties, or just an excuse to get together – we bring the high tea experience to you!

Every detail is thought out carefully, from the curated fine china, freshly pressed linens, and gold-plated flatware to the crystal water goblets and fresh flower arrangements. Along with the beautiful tablescape, we provide three-tiered stands that are filled with delicious tea sandwiches, petite desserts, our signature scones, and freshly brewed hot tea! We are proud to say that our scones have been known to be the best in Middle TN. All of this brought together to create the most extravagant tea experience.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
There are several people that we feel helped encourage us along the way but first and foremost we want to thank God for bringing us together and leading and guiding us through this journey. Our husbands who have always encouraged and supported us in so many ways. Their business experience is invaluable and we would not be where we are today without them.

We are grateful to our family, friends and customers that have bought scones, booked an event, attended an event and shared with others about us. We truly feel so blessed and humbled.
