Rising Stars: Meet Michael & Aimee Fisher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael & Aimee Fisher.

Hi Michael & Aimee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It starts when Michael was a young boy growing up in the area and actually mowing the grass and hauling hay on the farm. Michael dreamed of having a farm like it one day, and in 2016 was able to purchase the farm with 31 acres…

The first wedding held at WindSong Farm was ours in 2019, and it was an experience we wanted to share with others. So in January 2020 we began construction of the 7200 sq. ft. custom barn and venue and made our dream of owning our own Wedding and Event Venue Business a reality!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Almost immediately after beginning construction in January 2020 the Covid crisis hit the US and we were thinking “Oh boy maybe this was not the best time to start our Event business!” but outside of supply shortages and a few construction setbacks that turned the planned 9 month construction into almost 18 months, it all worked out and we had our first wedding in the barn in May of 2021.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We own and operate WindSong Farm Weddings & Events. We specialize in providing a countryside retreat for our couples to get married and enjoy the day with their loved ones. We nestled the barn within our 31 acres to make it feel like it has been on the property for over 100 years. We often hear from our couples who have booked with us, they chose WindSong because of how serene it is, and how it makes them feel at home.

Besides the beautiful fields, our back-covered porch and getting-ready suites are some of the most popular areas on the property. We are known for all the details that we have throughout the barn. We have single-handedly picked out and thought through every detail. I would say that is what we are most proud of, and what sets us apart from others.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
It is scary going out and starting your own business, but do it! Being an entrepreneur and seeing your vision and hard work come together is so worth it and one of the most rewarding endeavors we have ever undertaken.
