Rising Stars: Meet Mikaela Enget

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikaela Enget.

Mikaela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Surrey, a small no stoplight town in North Dakota. I was raised by my single mother who was very supportive of a huge dream. I wanted to be on a stage and that dream was brought to life through many competitions and auditions starting at a young age. One thing they never tell you while you’re on this wild goose chase for your “dream” is how lucky you have to be.

You can practice for hours a day, sing until your face turns blue, rest, write, perform, and run as fast as you can towards your goal but, if you don’t have patience all of that work will feel like it’s for nothing. After a few times getting told the one word that no one at any age wants to hear: “No”.. I gave up, I’m not shy to admit it.

It was like a bad breakup, I thought about it daily and I wanted it back, that fire and passion for music. The one difference was the only person that could change this feeling was myself. That’s why I packed my bags and moved to Nashville, Tennessee Christmas of 2019.

I was ready for a fresh start and a new beginning, little did I know a pandemic was right around the corner. My music career got put on the back burner again. Instead, I put all of my focus into running a spa with my Master Esthetician license and would go on my fifth year of this career. The spa sadly shut down due to the pandemic this past year.

Since then I have been working full-time as a Content Creator on Instagram and TikTok.

My songwriting book is open and the pen has been to paper. My voice is ready to be heard. This next chapter is exciting, I have been patient, and I’m ready.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been far from smooth, but that’s what makes it my story. Every unwanted bump, hill, yield, and stop sign has its reasons for being there, who am I to complain.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve been a Master Esthetician for the past five years with many advanced trainings under my belt. I’m also a full-time Content Creator on Social Media with a TikTok following of 1.1 million.

I’m proud of these accomplishments, but the one I’m most proud of is my music career that I’ve been working towards for over 10 years. Over 15 State Fair competitions, The Voice Audition, American Idol, Weddings, this barely scratches the surface of all the time that’s been applied.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think things are changing daily, it’s hard to pinpoint any type of changes but I’m excited to see and be a part of them.
