Rising Stars: Meet Robyn Woodside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Woodside

Hi Robyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, parties were such an event. My first birthday consisted of 365 balloons, each, for myself and my twin brother. I always loved helping with parties, the planning and the decorating.
I went to school for teaching. Outside of my day job, I threw Friendsgiving events, birthday parties, even business launch events. I enjoyed every aspect of the event planning process.
After COVID-19 hit the whole world, education as we knew it changed. With all of the changes, I began thinking more and more about what I enjoyed. I love teaching, but I also love event planning.
I started up a social media page, and began sharing my experience with events. I have had such a positive response from family, friends, and total strangers. It is definitely a lot starting up a business while also working a full-time job, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a new business is not always going to be smooth. Starting a new business while also working a day job that requires a lot of energy and effort that I don’t always feel like I have between teaching and raising a toddler.
However, I love this job, and am willing to do whatever necessary to get to that smooth road.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an event planner + organizer. The events I have done and can do range from children’s birthday parties to business events, such as ribbon cuttings or launch parties, to special occasions, like 50th birthday parties and baby showers.
I specialize in bringing a client’s vision to life, and working to that the stress out of events, so they can enjoy themselves, as well. I am able to research and, not only find everything a client needs, but finding the best bang for their buck. I also offer set-up + tear-down, as well as event management, so that food stays refilled, trash is picked up, and the event moves along smoothly.
I am also currently increasing my rental inventory in order to be a one-stop-shop for clients to help with ease and stress.

I am most proud of showing my daughter that you can do what you love + you can do anything that you set your mind to!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Clarksville, where we are based from, is such a melting pot, being so close to Fort Campbell, Kentucky. I absolutely love not only all of the people you meet from being near a military base, but the businesses that pop-up in our town. There is such a variety of everything in our town, and I couldn’t be more proud to serve Clarksville.
I wouldn’t say there’s anything i particularly dislike about our city. Being a small business owner, reaching such a large and growing city can be a difficult task, though. I am working to increase my reach, and serve as much of our community as possible.
