Today we’d like to introduce you to Stelle Amor
Hi Stelle , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an artist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, content creator, and videographer based in Nashville, TN. I was born in Kansas and raised in the suburbs of Louisville, KY. I think it’s safe to say I’ve always been a weirdo and I’ve always been a writer. Writing and creating has always been my way of processing this crazy existence. I have saved almost every journal I’ve ever written in… I have a trunk full of my thoughts and songs. It’s funny you can look back as far as 1st grade, although I still have the terrible spelling and chaotic handwriting it’s safe to say I’ve progressed a bit. Working with so many legends and talented people in the music industry has really helped me grow over the years. My dream really came true when I was 20 years old and I moved into an apartment on the West Side in Bellevue with my ancient cat Ellie, half working GPS, and a dumb phone… its wild that was almost 12 years ago. (It feels like yesterday and another lifetime ago all at once.) Once I got to Nashville things fell in and out of place allowing me to record lots of records and play iconic Nashville venues like The Basement, Exit Inn, and The BlueBird Cafe; while doors closed and opened I met many key players in my band and my life… managers, co-writers, and my first producer Dr. Dave ended up being the love of my life and partner! It’s always nice to visit my family and friends but Nashville really is a dream, the musical and creative community here is priceless. Producing is definitely my newest craft but I’ve really had a blast working with some amazing local artists on songwriting demos and recording pre production. There’s a song I’m working on with Kendra Chantelle called “No Grit No Pearl” and it’s probably my current favorite track in progress with its powerful message and her soulful vocals. Although it’s so much fun to help other artists grow their visions I also love being able to create my own records as an artist! I’m currently working with Dr. Dave at our home hub Electric Pony Sound Studio on our second EP with our first single coming out this Spring!!!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is just inevitably HARD… I think the road maybe had a few smooth flowing spots but for the most part picking the life of an artist comes with lots of bumps on top of the normal tragedies that come with being human. I think the biggest struggle for me is finding balance in it all. To truly have a solid career you have to treat your art like a business and when you’re independent and wearing all the hats it’s much easier for things to fall through the cracks during hard seasons. I feel like I’m just starting to get back on track after taking a hiatus to caretake for my father. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the winter of 2022 and passed in the fall of 2023… being a hospice caretaker has completely changed my perspective and the grief of losing my biggest fan has really been a rollercoaster. In 2024 I focused a lot on healing. Settling back into the Nashville scene after such a heartbreaking experience felt heavy but I knew the music would help heal so I released my first self produced single called Dandelion Season. The lyrics from the chorus really say it all.
“It’s the dandelion season
such a beautiful reason to
remember the possibilities
of every seed
will lead to the way
our persistence is key
baby just know its meant to be
our times coming.”
For anyone in a bumpy place on the road, please don’t give up… I know how hard this life is but we can make it beautiful, we just have to keep trying.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My friend got me a book for Christmas and there’s a quote in the front by Edith Sitwell “I am not eccentric. It’s just that I am more alive than most people. I am an unpopular electric eel set in a pond of catfish.” – I feel like this hits me on the head so hard.
It’s so magical to me that I can capture a story and feeling through music and connect with others all over the world. I’m proud and honored I get to create songs that become the soundtrack for people’s lives. I’ve been blessed with sync placements, performing on national and local Television, having my music played on radio stations across the US and streamed across the globe. I think the biggest reward though is connecting with people. To create a song and independently record and release it is not an easy feat; it’s always so beautiful when the hard work and vulnerability is appreciated and a connection is made.
I’ve once been called an octopus on roller skates and that image seems to be fitting… I’m definitely always chewing on a lot of creative endeavors at once. I’m even a part of an indie rock band called Of A Generation. Our tunes are all cinematic and raw, really pumping with a lot of emotion meant to bring listeners into the moment. We just had our 5th commercial release, a Radiohead cover of “The Daily Mail” that you can find on all platforms!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My childhood home in Kansas was right next to a church and there was a small grassy yard in between where the neighbor kids would play. I remember making clover crowns, and dandelion chains; being at peace hearing the music echo from the church and the train whistle by as I wove flowers together. I still love to play outside; you can catch me running through the fields in my music video “Dandelion Season” captured by the super 8 queen Kaitlyn Nicely!
