Rising Stars: Meet Stephanie Mitchell of Columbia, TN.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Mitchell.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
What began as a passion for helping women feel confident and radiant has become an incredible journey. I started my career over 22 years ago in New York City and Miami, working on fashion shows, red carpet events, film, and editorial projects. I thrived on the creative energy of those fast-paced environments and knew I’d found my calling.

After moving to Columbia, TN in 2020, I unexpectedly found myself drawn into the world of bridal. I quickly discovered how rewarding it is to be a calming, creative presence during such an important, emotional day in someone’s life.

As word spread and bookings increased, we built a team through 931 Bridal Co. that not only delivers consistently beautiful results, but also provides a seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish.

Today, we’re a passionate and expanding team of on-site bridal beauty artists. We’ve had the honor of working with hundreds of incredible brides, and each wedding reminds us why we do what we do: to celebrate love, build connection, and help people feel their absolute best.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not always! Like many small business journeys, it’s come with its share of challenges. In the beginning, it was difficult balancing the creative side with the business side—learning how to manage scheduling, contracts, and client communication while still focusing on the artistry. Moving to a new area also meant starting from scratch and rebuilding a client base.

There were seasons of uncertainty, especially during the pandemic, when weddings were being canceled or postponed. But every challenge pushed me to grow, adapt, and refine how I operate. Now, with a strong team and systems in place, we’ve built something that feels both sustainable and fulfilling. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but it’s absolutely been worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in on-site bridal hair and makeup, creating timeless, radiant looks that help each bride feel like the best version of herself. My work goes far beyond just styling hair or applying makeup—it’s about stepping into one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life and bringing a sense of calm, confidence, and joy to that moment.

What I’m known for is not just the finished look, but the experience I create along the way. I pride myself on being a steady, calming presence and delivering consistent, high-quality results. What sets me apart is my ability to combine professionalism with a warm, personal approach. I truly listen to my brides and make sure they feel comfortable and taken care of from the first conversation to the final touch-up.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the power of preparation and presence. In the bridal world, no two days are ever the same, and things don’t always go exactly as planned—but showing up calm, organized, and fully present makes all the difference. I’ve learned that how I make people feel in those moments is just as impactful as the beauty work itself. Grace under pressure, clear communication, and being adaptable are just as essential as any tool in my kit.
