Rising Stars: Meet Terry Squires of Hermitage/Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Squires

Hi Terry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career started as a Registered Nurse and focused on open-heart recovery, open-heart surgery, emergency nursing. After several years in helping patients recover physically with heart issues, God pulled me into helping others with their spiritual hearts. With no experience in writing, the Lord gave me ability to write and create books for children, teens and adults – encouraging them to seek the Lord with all of their heart.

My 20+ books include the bestselling TodaysGirls.com series, the Communicate Christ series, God’s Stories-My First Thoughts, Bible Stories for Bedtime, Ancient Heroes Trading Cards, the ONE Impact Bible, and I Seek Truth. And I’m in the midst of writing an new devotional.

In 2014, I was asked to create a television show with Cornerstone Television Network – Pittsburgh, PA. In 2017 – I was asked to create another show for adults based in Nashville, TN where I live. It started out as Today’s Life – Stories of Unshakable Faith, but in 2020, I changed the name to Today’s Nashville – This Is Faith. I co-produce with Cornerstone Television Network and host the weekly syndicated television program, focusing on faith stories of Grand Ole Opry legends, Christian musicians, authors, politicians and many more. The show takes viewers into the homes, barns, and studios to hear stories of hope and resilience throughout Nashville. Previous seasons included Gary Sinise, Governor Mike Huckabee, CeCe Winans, Randy Travis, Larry Gatlin, Kathy Troccoli, William Lee Golden, Bill Anderson, T Graham Brown, John Berry, Jeannie Seely, Jennifer O’Neill, Ray Stevens, Jason Crabb, Lily Isaacs, The Isaacs, Jimmy Fortune, Keith and Emy Jo Bilbry, Linda Davis, Deborah Allen, Chonda Pierce, Debbie Winans, TG Sheppard and Kelly Lang, Kent Blazy, Rebecca St. James and many more.

Today, I’m continue to focus on Today’s Nashville show and re-introducing the new Ancient Heroes of The Bible Trading Cards. (48 trading cards featuring the characters of Abraham, Moses, Gideon, Deborah, David and Elijah. The Journey card takes you deeper into God’s Word as you journey through the Old Testament Book introductions and questions. The Ancient Heroes of the Bible also has an interactive website with games, and the Journey.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not always. Regarding the publishing – it’s been a learning curve into the ministry/business world, making mistakes along the way. And like most industries, changes happen – online stores replacing bookstores, social media, etc.

The Today’s Nashville show has been a blessing. I love to share the faith and journey of others. Each episode is truly focused on the guest. It also has been a learning curve since I didn’t have any experience in television.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As previously stated, I believe my gifting is my creative concepts – whether it be books or television programs. I look at the big picture. For example, when I write a book, I think of the ancillary products that could compliment it such as a website, interactive products.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Nashville – the people. We have the most generous, creative, giving, talented people living in Nashville. Also, I love all the things you can do in Nashville – shopping, sports events, college events, concerts, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, TPAC, etc.

What I least like about our city? Traffic, of course. 🙂
