Today we’d like to introduce you to The Band JAREN.
Hi The Band, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We are The Band JAREN! Our core is made up of two sisters, Jaren and Jade LaGore, and we are backed by an all female girl band. We, as sisters, grew up in Flushing, MI and could read music before we could read English. By the age of 5, we were playing our first instrument – classical piano. By the age of 6, Jaren was also playing guitar and Jade was playing violin.
Although we grew up playing together, we never thought we’d make a career out of it. During our teenage years, we pursued very separate musical paths – Jade was on track to be a classical violinist and Jaren was pursuing a solo pop artist track. However, the Lord had very different plans. Jaren felt called into the ministry of Christian music first in 2022, and our team at the time assembled an all-female backing band. However, Jaren felt that they were still missing just one more person. After seeking God’s will in prayer, she asked her sister, Jade, to join. Jade initially turned down the offer as she was still set on becoming a professional violinist and playing in an orchestra. However, yet again, the Lord had different plans and showed her that the band was the right path for her. We have now been on the road touring and making music for the last 3 and a half years and are so excited to be sharing the Good News wherever we go!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I think the biggest challenge that we have faced is juggling school, touring, writing, church work, and many other ministries while still maintaining a healthy balance and finding time to rest. The Lord is good, though, and has shown us what to prioritize in each season of life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The band is known for pairing its upbeat melodies and pop/rock sound with the Gospel message to create music that brings lost souls closer to Christ. Jaren is an experienced composer and electric guitarist, with vast theory knowledge from years of conservatory. Jade is an extremely talented violinist, also with years of conservatory and professional violin experience. As an all girl band in a very non-traditional Christian genre, we believe that our unique makeup allows us to reach more people using our art and music as a form of evangelism – something we’re very passionate about!
