Rising Stars: Meet Tiffany Tipton of Maryville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Tipton

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career 20 years ago this coming March! I branched out to begin my own business after becoming a single mom of a child with special needs. It was more out of necessity than anything else so that I can take my daughter to her appointments and give her the attention she needs. Little did I know that starting this business would change my and her lives in the best way! The community I have built through my studio has been my greatest blessing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would not say that things have always been a smooth road. I’ve moved locations, built from scratch, constantly have a changing schedule with my daughter’s needs, and even had medical issues of my own—needing two surgeries in less than two years. My knee being a big one that impacted work. Standing on your feet all day can do a number on your knees! But my amazing clients have been so patient and loyal. In fact, they have carried me through some of the hardest times. Things may not be easy, but loving my business is.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hair color artist! I specialize in grey transitions and creative color, as well as being a certified blonding specialist, but I love all things color. What I’m known most for around town is corrective color and hair colors that are more time consuming and complicated. Many women are embracing their natural grey hair after years of coloring. I give a grey transitions service that allows women to grow out naturally and gracefully. Many other stylists in town will send their clients to me for major changes. Being a certified blonding specialist, other stylists that send their clients to me needing complicated services know that I will maintain the integrity of their clients hair! Gimme all the challenges.

How do you think about happiness?
Nothing makes me happier than making my clients (and friends and family) happy. Something about seeing that burst of confidence in someone’s face gives me such a sense of accomplishment and success—knowing I’m right where I need to be.
