Rising Stars: Meet Toni Viola

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Viola.

Hi Toni, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I was little, I’ve always been drawn to photography. I’m naturally and introvert and more comfortable observing others than being in the spotlight myself, so taking photos of others has always come naturally to me and because I’m someone who pays attention to details, I’m especially great at capturing people in their most natural state – I always get comments from clients afterwards saying how impressed they are that I brought out and capture their “REAL” smile – and that is SO meaningful to me because those are the photos we wind up wanting to print and hang in our homes, right? When I’m not behind the lens, I also love the other pieces that go into my business like graphic design, communicating with clients, and creating systems to make sure I’m creating a standout client experience. Being an entrepreneur is a lot of work, but also so much fun!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest obstacle in starting my own photography business has honestly been…. myself. Working in a creative field, it’s very easy to doubt, second guess, and compare your work to others. As much as I tried to dismiss photography as just a hobby for myself, it kept calling me and I knew that I had to get over my own fears, jump in, and see what happens. There are still times when I feel like I could have done something better, but I’m learning to give myself some credit for how far I’ve come and recognized that my work will always be evolving and growing, no matter how many years of experience I have.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area, and I do several different types of photos, but working with families is my absolute favorite! Something that I believe sets me apart from others is how deeply I care – not just about my business, but in how much I care about the experience that YOU, the client, has when you work with me. Whether it’s in our communication and scheduling, finding natural-looking poses during our session, or even the experience you have receiving sneak peek photos within 24 hours and your gallery delivery within a couple of weeks. I want this experience to be something you have a ton of fun with and just so happen to also get some amazing photos, too.
