Rising Stars: Meet Zac Townsend

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zac Townsend

Hi Zac, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started comedy about 8 years ago. I began in the Tampa/St.Pete Florida area.

After about two years there I moved to Nashville, TN. And both this and Zanies have been a home for me since. I really love it here. We’re very lucky to live in a city with one of the best comedy clubs in the nation. Shoutout to the Dorfman’s, Lucy, Fallon and all of the Zanies staff. Yesssiiirrrrr.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think everything is pretty hard in comedy. I’ve basically failed in almost every way imaginable I think. From bombing to putting out something I thought was good but stunk. It’s all a learning curve. I’ve bombed so bad before I got a standing ovation when I said “alright, one more joke and I’m going to get out of here”.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do stand up comedy and I am the co-creator of the sketch comedy collective “Paid Vacation” based in Nashville.

I think what makes me most proud is seeing people have a good time whether at a live show or sharing our sketches.

I also like watching people in the audience enjoy a nice, cold freaking beer. Now THAT’S what the heck I’m talking about. Go off king.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Following me on social media is always a huge form of support. I post all my upcoming shows on there.

My socials are @ZacTownsend_ and @PaidVacationComedy.
