Today we’d like to introduce you to Zacharie Miller.
Hi Zacharie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had an interest in the finished product of being creative weather that be photography, videography, painting, tattoos you name it. There was always the respect for it but no understanding of how any of it worked or enough self-love to invest. This isn’t a story defined by brokenness; it is defined by redemption! Before getting into photography my life has been anything but ordinary. I know what it means to carry the weight of generational struggles, to witness the darkness this world can create, and to become someone I never intended to be.
By the time I was 27 years old every part of myself and the way I was living was no longer acceptable to me and I surrendered to “the bridges of hope III” in Louisville, GA. at the time it was winter and trees were bare, leaves had fallen no signs of life everything was dark and cold along with myself. through a lot of faith, surrender and willingness I got a second chance at life. as I worked on myself and the light started to come back in my eyes I noticed so did everything around me. the flowers where blooming, the trees had leaves, the sun was shining, and animals were exploring. I started to see the beauty in everything the good, and the bad. in those re-birthing moments if you will the understanding of having a higher purpose was born and so came the business name “Higher Purpose concepts LLC” a few years later. there’s light even in darkness if you’re looking for it, it can and should be captured.
Today I live a new version of self but the same eyes that have witnessed both sides of the world is the eyes behind the camera. for the past 3 years I’ve worked on my craft. I choose to capture the beauty that exists in every person’s story. I am well rounded, but I specialize in live music. capturing the feeling of the night, the artists passion and love for the music they created and share with the world. I strive to bring peoples vision to life and then some. I travel through Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama and have had the pleasure of working with MTV, Magazine publications, and professional music artists including, Bayker Blankenship, Tanner Usrey, Taj Farrant, and Sierra Dawn Hull, your vision is waiting on your decision.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
one of the biggest struggles I’ve faced so far was starting. overcoming the fear of trying something new. thankfully in the world of photography, it isn’t as competitive as you think. I’ve learned so much and collaborated with many talented creatives who have help me grow in my craft. over the past year some have also helped me have the time to heal and grow myself. I have lived in hospitals more than my own home with chronic illnesses. while that has slowed my own process down, I have been able to pass along work to other creatives as they have done for me in the beginning. my second biggest struggle has been my health. pulling me away from my passion this past year. even in hardships through many prayers and support from others the road traveled has been easier.

I do photo, video, and drone work. I specialize in authentic storytelling through urban lifestyle, music, and portrait photography, capturing real moments with a cinematic, street-inspired style. For me I am most proud of the moments I overcome and adapt to. the situations with bad weather, lighting, or things out of my control and still follow through with work my clients are over the moon about. what sets me apart from others is my work. everybody in the industry has their own uniqueness and the way they see things. two photographers, same subject, two completely different photos.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
my drive to out do myself from the day before is a huge part in my success in photography
