Stephanie Wilson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Stephanie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I just recently spent the weekend with my daughter and grandson. He is 3 going on 20, lol. He’s such a creative and imaginative little human. He has me laughing and cracking up all the time. I am usually on the road 10 months out of the year so the times I get to spend with my family are very dear to me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Stephanie Wilson—an entertainment truck driver by day and a startup founder by night (or, more accurately, parked at a truck stop with Wi-Fi). I’m building Stylistic™, an app that acts like your personal stylist in your pocket, starting with color analysis and body shape guidance to help you figure out what really works for you.
What makes me different? I’m doing this while hauling rockstar gear across the country with my two dachshund copilots, proving that you don’t have to fit into a box—or stay in one lane—to reinvent yourself. Stylistic™ is all about confidence, fun, and reminding people that style isn’t about rules—it’s about finally seeing yourself and saying, “Damn, I look good.”
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a curious, creative, and outspoken girl who believed anything was possible. Life experiences, challenges, and expectations pushed me into roles that didn’t always fit, but deep down I’ve always been someone who refuses to give up. That little girl is still here—she’s the reason I had the courage to start over, build a life on my own terms, and now create a brand that helps others rediscover who they truly are.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life was abandonment, which left me feeling like I wasn’t enough. For years I carried that pain through addiction, but everything changed when I chose sobriety in 2019. Healing came through faith, forgiveness, and finally believing I was worthy of more. Today, I carry my scars as proof that survival can become strength, and strength can turn into purpose.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—the public version of me is real, but it’s not the whole picture. What I share is honest: the grit, the humor, and the lessons I’ve learned through survival and starting over. The difference is that the public me delivers it with confidence and a little sarcasm, while the private me still carries the softer parts I don’t always put on display. Both are real—just different sides of the same woman.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, role, and possessions, what would remain is my heart. I’d still be the woman who fought her way through pain and found strength in starting over. I’d still be the mother, sister, and friend who loves deeply, and the dreamer who believes it’s never too late to create something new. Titles and things can fade, but what remains is resilience, faith, and the ability to lift others up through my story.
