We recently had the chance to connect with Brian Russell collins and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Brian Russell, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I love escaping reality in the movies and spending time with my cat!!!!!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello My Name is Brian Russell Collins. I’m a Touring,Studio Drummer and Singer, Songwriter based out of Nashville, TN.
I’m also an ambassador for The American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink Division: I love helping the Cancer Community by raising money for Patients and Families in Need.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
We all go through Ups and Downs in life. No one is immune to life’s consequences. We’re all tested and sometimes broken.
But the way to restore that is to be patient, learn the power of forgiveness and letting God guide you through the storm.
The Storm won’t last forever, we’re built for more than we know. Just keeping believing there is a light at the end of the darkness.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Success is measured in so many different ways. I thought if I had everything I wanted from my career that life would be great.
But losing my Mother and Sister changed that mind set.
The suffering from that loss is more than words can express. I don’t think I’m even fully healed.
But my faith in God and know that my Mother and Sister are with him has taught me that life is fragile and we should share love everyday.
Because we never know when our last breath will be.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My Family, Career, Cat and Love
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I left everything on stage and lived my best to better our community and well being
