Flynn Hendrix shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Flynn, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
Acting opportunities and wrestling opportunities have been the biggest goals I’m pursuing.
If I were to stop pursuing these, I’m not sure how I would feel. Both of these have been a huge part of my life for over 30 years.
In my mind if I were to stop pursuing these, I’d always have to wonder what I was missing out on, and probably face a sense of emptiness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Flynn Hendrix, one of those rare Nashville Natives.
I’m a husband, father, Territory Manager, Actor & Professional Wrestler.
I’m a father to 2 rising studs on the baseball field, and it’s become a near, year-round endeavor.
I’ve previously worked with WWE, Amazon for a couple projects and am currently involved with some new tv shows I can’t talk about at this time.
I’m also one of the co-founders of Music City Pro Wrestling in Nashville. Outside of being a talent, I’m the head booker (matchmaker) and producer for the company.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was lost and trying to find my place to fit in.
That feeling has been a constant in my life, and something I still struggle with today.
It seems to be prevalent in the creative fields I pursue and is easy to fall victim to.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That no matter how bad things get, I can continue plugging along.
Another thing I learned was that I don’t have to shoulder the burden alone.
There are people to talk to, like your loved ones, or a licensed therapist.
Opening up can be one of the best things you do instead of carrying the weight alone.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
That you have to work yourself to the bone without rest to get ahead.
I wish I never developed that mindset and allowed myself to rest without feeling guilty.
You can be successful without sacrificing your health and wellbeing.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying about things outside of my control and being concerned with material objects.
