GRANT, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would have to say energy – that is where everything else comes from.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I own and operate Superior Exteriors Cleaning Company. We were started in 2017, and have grown to become the highest rated exterior cleaning company in Williamson County, TN. We help hundreds of homeowners and companies every single year keep the outside of their buildings clean. A portion of all sales are donated to a local non-profit, named Graceworks Ministries. We have now been partnered with them for 4 years.
We provide exterior cleaning to homeowners, property managers, builders, corporations, and non-profits. We operate in the following cities: Franklin, Brentwood, College Grove, Thompsons Station, Spring Hill, Arrington, Nolensville, and Nashville. We are thankful to have received recognition this year and won three awards for being the Best Pressure Washing Company. We are licensed as both a Home Improvement Contractor in addition to General Contractor in the state of Tennessee.
As we close out 2025, we have our sights set on 2026. We are looking forward to a great year ahead. We will be volunteering our services at no charge over the winter to local non-profits and widows in Williamson County who need exterior cleaning done. We will be competing in the Sizzle Awards in early 2026. We will be growing our team in spring, and we will be helping more clients than ever before in 2026.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother Sandy believed in me before anyone else did. She had an incredible ability to make you feel like the most powerful person in the room, and that you could accomplish anything you wanted to.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been many times where I had to look and ask myself “Am I on the right path?” In the beginning, it is easy to look like everything is going wrong, and there is not enough sample data to know that it is just the normal rate of progress. Things go wrong almost daily, and you have to fix them and keep it moving on. Having that experience and staying on the same path gives a stronger resilience in addition to a stronger operating procedure to know how to handle when something like this comes up again.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
Your life today is an example of the thoughts, actions, and beliefs you held 5 years ago. Your life 5 years from now will be a result of your actions today. Every single one of us is the CEO, Captain, Director, and Writer of our own life. We choose what we do with our lives, and how things play out. We are in control of our actions and thereby our results. When you take away the option to blame other events, and decide that you are the driver of your car, it frees you from having an excuse and opens your way of thinking into looking at how you will get things done.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
This year I pooled all of my resources and purchased the first rental property. This was the largest purchase I have made to date, and I bet everything on it. It required a good bit of capital for the down payment, and I cashed out stocks, crypto, and savings to be able to afford it. It will not make any money the first 5 years of owning it. However, it will appreciate in value in addition to have the principal paid down, and in the next 7 – 10 years it will create another income avenue.
