We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jenny Fann. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Jenny, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Most people think real estate is about houses, when in reality it’s about people. A common misconception is that a realtor’s job is just putting a sign in the yard, showing a few homes, and collecting a commission. The truth is—if it’s done right—it’s about protecting families in one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives.
At Jenny Fann & The Gurus, we don’t just sell homes—we guide, shield, and advocate for our clients every step of the way. Behind the scenes, there are over a hundred moving parts in every transaction, and each one has the potential to protect or cost our clients thousands of dollars. Our job is to simplify that process while making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
What makes us different is that we lead with systems and heart. We’ve built a team that treats communication as a non-negotiable, that prepares homes so sellers don’t feel overwhelmed, and that negotiates contracts like every dollar belongs to us personally. We believe the “real” in real estate is relationships—and that’s why clients trust us long after the closing table.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jenny Fann, the founder of Jenny Fann & The Gurus, a real estate team built on a simple mission: Real Estate. Real Simple. That’s the Guru Difference. We believe buying or selling a home should be an empowering experience, not an overwhelming one—and we’ve created systems, strategies, and a culture that reflect that.
What makes us unique is that we don’t just “do deals.” We walk with our clients through every stage—whether that’s prepping a home with staging, inspections, and photography, or guiding buyers through complex negotiations that protect their money and their future. We’re not afraid to pull back the curtain and show people what really happens behind the scenes in a transaction, because we believe clarity builds trust.
For our agents, we provide growth paths tailored to their stage of business. High-producing agents gain leverage through systems and support, new agents are guided through our Guru Mentorship Program, and experienced agents looking to step back can take advantage of referral and retirement income opportunities through our Referral Brokerage, Simple Real Estate Referral Co.
At the end of the day, what makes us different is that we combine expertise and heart. We’re redefining the real estate experience by putting people first, simplifying the process, and building relationships that last long after the closing table.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When I was in third grade, a teacher told me I was “stupid.” Later, in high school, another teacher said I’d never make it because I was “too social to focus.” Those voices echoed in my head for years, and honestly, they still creep in from time to time. But I made a choice not to let them define me. Instead, I used them as fuel—to push harder, to go above and beyond, and to prove that the gifts God gives us aren’t mistakes.
What some saw as my weakness—being “too social”—was actually one of my greatest God-given strengths. The ability to connect with people is what allows me to build relationships, mentor agents, and lead a team culture at Jenny Fann & The Gurus that’s rooted in connection and support.
Today, when I work with clients or guide my team, I remind them that we’re each equipped with unique talents for a purpose. Real success comes when we lean into those gifts and use them to serve others well. That’s the heart of how we do real estate—by keeping people first and letting faith guide the way
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. My first year in real estate, I felt like giving up about every two weeks. I came in believing it would be easy—that I could sell a few houses, make some extra money, and maybe take a couple more trips to the beach each year. Boy, was I wrong.
What I quickly discovered is that real estate isn’t a side hustle or a stroke of good luck—it’s the building of a business. And if you want to do it with excellence and truly serve others to the best of your ability, it will take everything you’ve got: long hours, constant learning, strong systems, and a lot of heart. There were plenty of moments I wondered if I was cut out for it.
But those early struggles shaped the way I run Jenny Fann & The Gurus today. I know firsthand how hard it is to build momentum in this business, which is why I’ve created structures like our Guru Mentorship Program to support new agents, systems that help high-producing agents stay focused on what they do best, and referral options for agents who are ready to step back but still want to earn. Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t quit—because those challenges became the foundation of the team and community we’ve built now.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. I believe if you’re not genuinely yourself all the time, people will see right through it. Trust is the foundation of what I do, and if someone sees one version of me on social media but encounters a completely different person in real life, that trust is gone.
Honestly, it would be exhausting to try to juggle different personas for every area of my life. God created me to be who I am, and I try to reflect that in everything—from how I lead Jenny Fann & The Gurus to how I show up in my community. My hope is that whether you meet me at the closing table, in a mentorship session, or at the grocery store, you’ll see the same heart, the same values, and the same person
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I’ll be honest—I am a words of affirmation person. I love hearing when someone notices I’ve worked hard or gone above and beyond. But that’s not what drives me to give my best or to do things with excellence.
My motivation comes from my faith. Colossians 3:23 says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” That’s the heart of why I do what I do. My “why” is rooted in something eternal, not in applause or awards. I know that if I give my best and treat everyone in a way that honors God, the rest will take care of itself.
That’s also what shapes Jenny Fann & The Gurus. We work with excellence not just because people are watching, but because we believe we’re called to serve others well—clients, teammates, and our community—in a way that reflects our faith and values
