Story & Lesson Highlights with Jodi Mason

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jodi Mason. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Jodi, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I get up, start coffee, feed my cats, and then I spend time with God. I have a small devotional, pray over my prayer list, and write in my journal. I have found that these few moments I take really help me through my day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Jodi, and I am the creator/host of the podcast That TN Feeling. I talk about the state of Tennessee, and all that is amazing about it.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My dad taught me the most about work. He taught me to take pride in your work no matter what it was. He also told me to keep work and private lives separate.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me to not give up. It taught me that not everything was going to come the first time you did it. I learned that I needed to practice and take the time if I wanted to be better.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, because I am who I am to everyone. I do not have the time or energy to have different versions of myself. I always want to be true to myself.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a nice, caring, and honest person. I want to be remembered by how I impacted people lives for the better.
