We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rambo Lee . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Rambo , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Starting my mornings off with a mile walk, showering and then starting my day off with some fresh coffee. Typically like to eat lunch around noon and then figure out when I’m going to the studio. Also like to plan my next rollout for a new single. Usually start rehearsing for my next live show around 6pm.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi I’m Rambo Lee I grew up in Memphis Tennessee but I’ve had the opportunity to move around and live in various different states. I grew up with a loving mother who listened to a lot of old school R&B music which is where I fell in love with music. Around the age of 12 I really started to focus on songwriting and understanding the structures of songs. Fast forward to my short time in college is where I started creating my own music. I feel like my style of music and brand is all about passion and quality. I’m extremely passionate about the things I create and I strive for the highest quality. Authenticity is a core part of my brand which I feel like a lot of people gravitate to me for the real. I’m currently working on a new project which will be releasing in the 4th quarter. At the moment I’m releasing a bunch of new singles leading up to that new project.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother always told me I was special and I had a gift.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The pandemic was tough on everybody, I had to relocate from Los Angeles where all my business and career was starting to blossom. The moment all the venues in LA closed down it was a major let down and seemingly all the opportunities I earned out there were done. I had to move back home which was a total gut punch. I was close to giving up but my support system and the never dying belief in myself wouldn’t allow me to quit.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire all my friends and family for everything they have overcome and how they continue to evolve into better versions of their self.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was resilient, that I was caring and understanding. I hope they tell how I was a great friend and somebody they could rely on.
