Story & Lesson Highlights with Tina Gionis

We recently had the chance to connect with Tina Gionis and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Tina, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up and am at the gym within 15 minutes before I have time to procrastinate and make an excuse not to go. I don’t like going to the gym necessarily, but I notice such a difference in my energy levels that I make sure to fit it in 4-5 times a week. I come home, shower, eat breakfast, and try to get in 15 minutes of meditation before checking my emails.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an events and branding photographer. I capture the essence of the subject that I photograph and convey it to the viewer so they understand what story is being told, whether it’s the hightlight of an event or the branding message of an entrepreneur.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
working all sorts of low-paid or free photography jobs. I’ve paid my dues and am not selective of what photo shoots I take.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
make sure to invest your money early, even if it’s just a small amount! and do it regularly.

don’t be afraid to take risks and opportunities in the beginning. One step leads to another on the path.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
yes, I have a hard time pretending to be something I’m not.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I”m on the beach staring at the ocean.
