Story & Lesson Highlights with XOË MILES

XOË MILES shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning XOË, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I recently had a couple days off from writing and gigging, so I got to drive out to the smokey mountains! I drove the newfound gap and it was GORGEOUS! I love nature and adventuring and seeing scenery, so it was definitely one of my favorite things I’ve ever done.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Xoë Miles, and I’m a pop singer-songwriter. I’m originally from Montgomery, Texas, but now live in Nashville, Tennessee. I started playing guitar, writing songs, and recording in studios when I was 12 years old, and have since then been lucky travel all over the country to perform and work with some of the most talented people in the music industry. I just released my new single, Someone’s Somebody, and it’s available to stream on all music platforms now! I plan on releasing my debut full length album in the first half of 2026, and am already working on my next project as well.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
To be completely honest, I’ve always been 100% authentically myself! Growing up in Texas, I always have had people try to get me to sing country music (or even judge my goals and my dreams), and even as I’ve gotten older I’ve had some people in the industry tell me more extreme things like how I should dye my hair blonde and show more skin. I’ve always been quick to shut things down that don’t align with my morals and who I want to be- not only as an artist, but as a person. Authenticity is one of the things I’ve always been the most passionate about in life and in my career, so I feel like when it comes to the world telling me who I “have” to be, I’m the type of person to be like… the only person that decides who I get to be is myself!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To keep going and not give up, because even if things get really bad and it feels like no progress is being made, it always turns around and can only go up!

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely! Like I said in an earlier question, it’s always been extremely important to me to be authentically myself no matter what. I’ve had people say things like “there’s no way she’s happy all the time” and of course life is not always sunshine and rainbows, but I really am genuinely an overall happy person who has a positive outlook on life, and I feel like the world needs more of that.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Probably that this is everyone’s first time living life, and that people make mistakes in their past that they can learn from and change because of. Of course, the only person who can truly help someone is themselves, but I feel like the world can use a little more compassion and understanding instead of just jumping to worse case scenarios (unless it’s something like crazy unforgivable and unacceptable, obviously). I’ve seen it first hand, even with a couple of family members, how if someone really wants to better themselves they can do it! So I don’t know, I feel like the world could use a lot more love and kindness.
